In 1671 Captain Thomas Blood pretended to fall in love with the jewel-keepr's daughter to get himself into the Tower of London. He pretended to be a clergyman and the jewel keeper belived him. Blood knocked the man on the head and stole some crown, He did not get very far though, before he was stopped by an off-duty soldier. Much to everyone's surprise the King, Charles II, pardoned Blood and even awarded him a special pension for his daring deed"

soccer is the world's most popular sport and is played in every ontinent. In India we know it as Football, The high point of international football is the World cup, which is held every four year. The rules of soccer were laid down in Britain around 1860 when the football association was formed to control the sport. It is a simple game in which two teams of eleven players try to score by kicking a ball into the opponents goal-mouth. Players control the ball with their feet or head, but they are not allowed to touch it with their arms and hands. Only the goal keeper may handle the ball, and only inside the penalty area in front of his own goal mouth. A game is 90 minutes long with a break at half time.
